How can I find out which version of FreeBSD I'm running?

To print the current hardware platform, system name, current release level, OS implementation, and version level simply type "uname -a". The output should look something similar to this:

# uname –a
FreeBSD freebsd.hostname.com 6.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE Mon Dec 2 18:08:18 CDT 2007 root@hostname.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/HN i686
